Office 365 New Look Admin Centre

In previous blogs, we talked about how closely interlinked Dynamics CRM Online was with Office 365 and how easily your CRM instance can be managed within the Office 365 Portal. You can manage your users, software and cloud services all in one place.

In this blog, I’ll be going through some of the features of the new look Office 365 Portal.
At first glance, you can see immediately how much the Office 365 portal has evolved over time.

The home page makes managing your portal a lot more efficient, by giving you the important metrics at a glance, Dynamics CRM user count along with other active subscriptions.

Starting June 6th, 2016, Planned Maintenance notifications will now live in the Office 365 Message Centre, along with the other change notifications about the customer’s Dynamics and Office 365 services.

You can access Service Health in One Click

You can now create custom tiles!

Custom tiles appear in the “My apps” list of each user and can be easily added to the app launcher. Custom tiles are great for providing quick access to websites that are relevant for your users, for example: your SharePoint homepage. To create a new custom tile, click Settings, Organization Profile and then click Add custom tiles for your organization. Or search for Custom tiles using the Search bar at the top.

Easier User Management

By hovering over the User Icon, you can action the usual tasks with your active users, change passwords and assign licences. You can also recover deleted users.

Data Migration allows you to migrate user’s data from commonly used mailboxes such as Gmail or Yahoo.

Groups

In Office 365, a Group is a shared workspace for conversations, calendar events, and files. As the global administrator, you don’t have to be the Group creator, owner, or member to manage Groups.

The Groups dashboard in the Office 365 admin centre is where you view and manage all the Groups in your tenant, including Office 365 groups, Security groups, Distribution lists, and security groups.

I hope you enjoyed reviewing the Admin Centre Preview, watch this space for more new features.
